I am a Computer Scientist and an Industrial Technologies engineer who is always trying to learn something new, be it in my area of expertise or not.

In order to apply some of my skills whilst looking after the environment, ouside of university I take some time to repair old electronics in order to give them another chance, helping reduce waste and contributing with my grain of sand towards a sustainable future.

After pursuing two bachelors simultaneously, as well as conducting research at two internationally recognized institutions, I am ready to take head-on any challenge that comes my way. And if the challenge comes with learning something new, that is all the better.

Education

Master of Science in Automatic Control and Robotics.

2022 - 2024

Escola Tècnica Superior d'Enginyeria Industrial de Barcelona (ETSEIB)
Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC)

Currently attending the first semester of the Master. Coursing the following subjects: Industrial Organization, Multivariable Control Systems, Computer Vision, Control optimization, Dynamics and Control, and Modelling, Identification and Simulation of Dynamic Systems.

Bachelor in Computer Science.

2018 - 2022

Facultat d'Informàtica de Barcelona (FIB)
Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC)

Learned the basics of computer architecture, different programming languages, and pursued the Computation specialty. This specialty focuses on the optimization of programs by using different algorithms (such as sorting algorithms), and introduces the student to other disciplines: Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Data processing, etc.

Bachelor in Industrial Technologies Engineering.

2016 - 2021

Escola Tècnica Superior d'Enginyeria Industrial de Barcelona (ETSEIB)
Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC)

Bachelor where classes in diverse fields were taken: Calculus, Algebra, Thermodynamics, Fluids, Mechanics Statistics, Electronics, Chemistry and Control.

Professional Experience

Research Intern

2024 - Present

Laboratoire d'Automatique
École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Lausanne (Switzerland)

Working on the implementation of collision avoidance algorithms for bumper cars at the Dependable Control and Decision Group (DECODE).

Research Intern

2023 - 2024
(9 months)

Collaborative Robotics & HRI Department
Eurecat, Cerdanyola del Vallès (ESP)

Built the framework required to work on Nvidia's Isaac Gym and Isaac Sim. Trained PPO agents to move a TIAGo mobile manipulator and published the Sim2Real movement comparison to the European Robotics Forum (ERF) (link: https://arxiv.org/abs/2403.07091).

Research Intern

2022 - 2022
(6 months)

Intelligent Robotics Laboratory
University of Colorado Boulder, CO (USA)

Surveyed the current state-of-the-art algorithms for autonomous ground vehicles and implemented one of them (Model Predictive Path Integral control - MPPI) on a four-wheeled vehicle developed at the Autonomous Robotics and Perception Group (ARPG).

Research Intern

2021 - 2021
(9 months)

Perception & Manipulation Laboratory
Institut de Robòtica i Informàtica Industrial (IRII), BCN (ESP)

Developed an assistive system capable of searching, detecting, localizing objects in a real assistive apartment and commanding a TIAGo mobile manipulator to the location.

DevOps Intern

2021 - 2021
(2 months)

Research & Development department (Remote position)
HP | Hewlett & Packard, Sant Cugat del Vallès, BCN (ESP)

Analyzed a program that worked under the UWP framework, extracted one of its features and reimplemented it using .NET Standard. The extracted functionality was then accessed with a C# wrapper that was run on Node.js, with the help of the edge-js package. This node was programmed using Typescript.
